Kamakura- Day trip from Tokyo
A DAY TRIP TO KAMAKURA, JAPAN
Kamakura is a beautiful destination just 1 hour away from Tokyo, lies in south. If you are looking to spend a day or a few days away from hustle bustle of Tokyo, Then Kamakura is right place for you ❤
Getting to Kamakura from Tokyo takes 1 Hour atleast and a train journey cost approx 900 Yen (INR 500) one way. I went to Kamakura on my 29th Birthday as a day trip from Tokyo. This place is in itself is a big experience. Rich history with sandy beaches and temples makes it a best day trip from Tokyoπ
THINGS I DID IN KAMAKURA :
1. The Great Buddha Temple- One of the most famous 11 meters tall bronze statue in Japan, the Temple feels is only 300 Yen (INR 150) and for children it is 150 Yen (INR 80). This Temple is 15 minutes walk from Kamakura train station and a 8 minute bus ride from train station. However, I strongly recommend a walk for exploring beautiful lanes, cafes and shops.
2. Hasedera Temple- This temple was so unique and it is my fav!! It is located on the hill overlooking the town and bay with amazing views. It has a beautiful garden with fish pond and a bambaoo garden too. It took around 1 to 2 hours to explore this particular temple. It also has a cave that is so mesmerizing. The entrance fee is only 400 Yen (INR 200) for adults and 200 Yen (INR 100) for children.
3. Zaimkouza beach- In evening I walked through the whole town and reached Zaimkouza beach. Kamakura has 4 beaches and they are absolutely beautiful. On clear days, one can see the views of Mount Fuji too ! I watched sunset and enjoyed watching the beach. On my way I saw this cute train that was going to Enoshima π
I enjoyed my trip to Kamakura with great music and dance on street after sunset ! After that I took a train back to Tokyo and reach in an hour with lots of memories.
