Bratislava
BRATISLAVA
Bratislava is a beautiful city and capital of Slovakia. It is 2 hours away from Austria by bus and 1 hour from train. I went there in 1st week of Feb 2024, extreme windy and cold at that time, but I had my best time.
I went on a day trip to Bratislava from Vienna, by Flixbus. This bus has cost be around 7 Euros return ticket by prebooking it 2 months before. On flixbus, I made a friend from Australia, with whom I explored this beautiful city Bratislava.
Our first visit was the church of Brastilava which was on the way to the old town Michael's gate. It’s surrounded by vineyards and the Little Carpathian mountains, crisscrossed with forested hiking and cycling trails. The old town was built in 18th Century.
After that, we explored bars and cafe of Bratislava in old town, and listened to some great music on our way. The city centre also has amazing crowd and they sell hot wine, hot rum, ice creams etc. Hot wine was only 2.5 Euros (Approx INR 250).
Post lunch, we went to blue church whi was closed that time. After that we started to hike to explore the bRatislava castle. It was already 3 PM, and we had only 2.5 more hours to explore this city as we have had a bus back to Vienna.
On hiking the mountain and the old town, we had amazing views of the whole city and UFO tower. UFO tower is a famous icon of Brastislava where one can have adventurous sport of flying and exploring the city.
We reached Bratislava castle after a hike of 30 to 40 minutes and it was so beautiful. The castle is free to visit from outside, but to go inside it had an entrance fee of around 13 Euros.
After spending a great amount of time around the castle, we got to see some great views of sunset time, THE GOLDEN HOUR IN BRATISLAVA, the sky was red, the sunset was all around the city and it was just so beautiful that I could not take my eyes off.
